Employment:

Shut Down WarehouseWe believe that small businesses, or micro-enterprise developments (MEDs), are one way to lift a family out of poverty and can provide a base of employment for other people in the community.

Our business training initiative helps implant this attitude through training seminars on the foundations for a successful business mindset, recognizing and developing creativity and unlocking the door for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Practical workshops in business selection, writing business plans and budgets enable budding business people the opportunity to fashion their own initiatives in their mind and on paper.

The next stage of the mentoring process involves applying for a business loan through Hope for Latvia, at which point all aspects of their business and business plan are assessed and further recommendations made if necessary.  Successful business plans are rewarded with a small loan of start-up capital, which is repaid over a period of 2 years.  The funds are then recycled.

The final stages of the business training program involves three stages of follow up training, problem solving and facilitating.

These businesses are ideal for parents and guardians seeking to generate other streams of income whilst caring for their children.
