Accommodation

Safe, clean and warm accommodation is vital to people’s welfare. We are committed to advocating on behalf of families to the government agencies. We also provide forums where families can meet and find advice on the best ways in which they can improve their current situation. This is a very simple step but one through which we are seeing great results; the collective wisdom shared both inspires other families and gives them practical steps which they can put into action.
We have a vision for a housing initiative which will provide individual accommodation for 30 families. These houses located above business units will provide families with a facility in which to run their own business; generating income to help them become self sufficient. The aim is that these are transitory houses, as soon as the family is able to become self sufficient they will move into other accommodation.
In the past this project has been called Isaiah House, however as a result of increasing building costs and falling land values, we have put this initiative on hold. The vision to enable families to become self sufficient and live in safe, clean and warm housing still lives on through our family support fund and micro-enterprise training. We hope that as these grow in their success, circumstances will allow us to build on them and establish this great housing initiative.
